Description: |
The movable jaw has a spring-loaded pipe gripping jaw segment on a tapered face, and a flat face for nuts. The adjusting knurl can be pulled away from the rack on the movable jaw, allowing the jaw to slide free for quick adjustment or to be reversed to select the pipe or nut face. Its general layout is reminiscent of the CARLL (pat. no. 1,060,891).
The specifications cite patent nos. 159,420, 953,346, 1,228,850, 1,402,686, 1,551,763, 1,557,864, 2,499,609, and 2,724,301 as references.
Known 12 inch example distributed in the U.S. as ALBUQUERQUE BG2304 by NBG International, Los Angeles. It is marked 300mm TONG CHI CHINA // PATENT PRODUCT, and the patent number appears on the cardboard backing with the operating directions. The patent number appears on the tool on a 10 inch example. |
