Description: |
This is an axle nut wrench. The long handle is attached to the socket portion and its stubby handle extension by a pivoting bolt or rivet, with a pair of holes for a second connector to solidly fasten the handle if necessary. The specifications note and disclaim any features covered by H.J. Martin's August 20, 1895 patent (no. 544,738), and Harford and Sutcliffe's November 18, 1886 Engish patent (no. 14,973).
In use, the extended portion of the handle would serve primarily as a crank for the wrench socket and its stubby handle, with the holes for the second connector used only to initially loosen tightened nuts. |
