The following information is on a partially printed form. I do hereby give, grant sell, convey, assign and transfer, to the said Samuel Elliot his heirs, (etc........ not on form) the full and exclusive right of making, using and vending to others the use of Elliot's patent Winnowing Mill or Fan, within the State of Kentucky. The form is ca 8x15 with additional info. The patent is preprinted on the form as 18th day of May, 1816. The form is signed and dated 20th day of September ad. 1819. The grantor , Barzilla Jewett, lived in Steubenville,Ohio and Samuel Elliot, who paid $3500.00 for the rights of the patent lived in Lawrenceburgh, Dearborn County, Ind.
For many years Barzilla Jewett operated a foundry on the Ohio River in company with a partner, the firm name being Philip & Jewett. |
