Description: |
The wrench has a sliding jaw adjusted by a wing-nut type screw, a three-lobed frame, and reinforcing ribs on the back side. The ends of the three frame arms have box wrenches corresponding to common nut sizes found on carriages. The three-lobed frame allows the wrench to be laid down with assurance it will not tip over and drop the axle nut on the ground.
Canadian patent no. CA-17,054 corresponds to this patent.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" lists the Giles' as the maker of this wrench as well. |
