From the specifications: The patent relates to the construction of hand tools such as those described in patent numbers 1,602,620 and 1,830,033. The main new features are having pivot trunnions integral to the handle, rather than having the pivot be a separate pin passing through holes in the other parts, and having the "nib" extending which facilitates opening the jaws.
