Description: |
This adjustable socket can work close to an obstruction. The fixed jaw is thin. Both jaws have notches to grip corners as well as flats, and the shank can be angled or offset from the axis of the socket.
A known example has a hollow handle with provision for an auxiliary rod which would form a "T" handle; this function is anticipated in the patent drawings and specifications as a hole through the handle end with a set screw to hold the rod. The connection between the handle and head is much simpler than the complicated universal joint connector described in the patent. |
