Stan Schulz HUSKY HANDY RATCHET - 1925 ad (FLICKR)
|
Description: |
The patent uses a ratchet mechanism of the type in patent no. 1,614,039, incorporated in a frame in the shape of a hollow tube which incorporates storage for an extension bar and sockets to be driven by the ratchet. The end closure could either be the largest socket of the set or a separate cap. In either case these would be held in place by spring-ball detents.
Advertised in 1925 as the No. 55 HUSKY HANDY RATCHET set, with six sockets. A known example of the set appears to have had a screw-on cap (now missing).
Sockets and extensions of the type shown in this patent are also shown in Mandl's WRENCH OUTFIT patent (no. 1,775,402). |
