Description: |
The patent is for a circular nut guard for "TRIMO" type adjustable wrenches. The guard is of slightly larger diameter than the adjusting nut, and is to prevent accidental alteration of the jaw adjustment from rubbing friction on the adjusting nut. The patent date is stamped on the side adjacent to the wrench frame.
This guard is found on later production of TRIMO wrenches, and represents an improvement on the nut guard in patent no. 1,012,037. Patent nos. 1,012,036 and 1,430,955 are two generations of the alternate "U" shaped nut guard used by TRIMO.
The frame for the adjustable jaw appears in "ROXB'Y WRENCH CO." pipe wrenches -- Trimont applied for the ROXBY trade mark in 1925 and "Roxby" appears as a Trimont trade mark in early 1930s hardware trade directories. |
