Description: |
This quick adjust mechanism combines (1)a flattened oval shank with threads on the curved sides, (2)an adjusting nut with an oval opening, threads cut in the "flats", and a "stop" to limit rotation, and (3) a spring. When the nut is turned so the oval corresponds to the oval shank, the spring either opens the wrench to its full extent, or pulls it closed. The spring (or in one version, two springs) also works to keep the adjusting nut in the "engaged" position. |
