Description:
This patent relates to a water dipper turned from a coconut shell and with an attached handle, where the handle-socket made from "Britannia", a type of pewter. The problem is that the dipper is often left in the water, leading to the wood handle swelling and bursting the handle-socket. The patented solution is to hollow out and slot the tenon on the end of the handle so that when it swells it can expand internally without exerting excessive pressure on the socket.
