Description: |
The patent covers a stack of flat steel wrenches with openings on both ends and a center slot. A wing-nut and bolt with flat sides form the holder for the set, and allow individual wrenches to be slid out far enough for use without disassembling the stack.
The features evolved over time; early ads do not show the screwdriver, bottle opener and alligator wrench that appeared in later versions of the set.
On some examples, the patent number appears to read 942,998 rather than 942,993.
Corresponding Canadian patent CA-122,206 granted Nov. 30, 1909 includes an alternate external supporting band not included in the U.S. patent. |
