The distinctive features of this pipe wrench are the "hooked ears" and loop strap that hold the adjusting nut in place. Some are marked "ARMSTRONG CHICAGO PAT. MAY 27, 1924" and some "ARMSTRONG BROS TOOL CO."
A 1927 ARMSTRONG BROS. catalog lists this wrench in 8, 10, 14, 18, 24, and 36 inch sizes; a 6 inch version also was made.
