Description: |
A sliding pivot point and a set of notches with a corresponding spur form the adjusting means on this pliers type wrench. Used with Bradley's Sept. 22, 1874 patent (no. 155,139) for a malleable iron adjustable wrench.
Some known examples with a marking that appears to read "PAT'D JUNE 24 72" match the drawing in pat no. 155,139, with an alignment tongue on the handle with the gripping tooth. Other known examples bear names of farm implement companies.
For the overall form, also compare patent nos. 166,020 and 206,733. |
