"The object of this invention is to provide an improved portable crosscut-sawing machine for sawing logs, timbers, &c., whereby economies in time, labor, and motive power may be secured. The invention consists in a circular-saw mounted on a sliding carriage, which is capable of being moved forward and backward on a supporting-frame, combined with mechanism for gigging the saw, and with a boiler and engine, and mechanism for conveying power from the engine to the saw, all permanently mounted on a truck, so as to be easily transported and moved." |
