Description: |
This self-adjusting pipe wrench has two bearing areas in the "hook jaw" and multiple gripping areas on the shank to accommodate different ranges of pipe sizes.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" cites a 1901 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN notice as evidence Viau produced the wrench. In another 1901 issue, Viau was advertising to sell the patent or produce the wrench on a royalty basis. The ad noted samples were available. |
