Description:
The patent covers the process of "forging and swaging the sliding jaw of an adjustable screw-wrench." The Windsor Mfg. Co. produced a screw-wrench with an adjustable jaw shaped like the one in this patent (see patent no. 26,951). An 1865 ad for that wrench noted "... no part of cast or malleable iron."
