Description: |
The push button on the side of the handle is connected to internal toothed slides which can mesh with teeth on the movable jaw. To minimize the "steps" between adjustment stops, the slides are loosely connected and have teeth a "half-space" apart.
Pat. no. 1,470,184 applies a similar adjustment principle to a "monkey wrench." |
