Description:
According to Kenneth Cope's book, Makers of American Machinist's Tools, This was one of the first patents that Laroy S. Starrett had. The Meat Cutter was exibited at the New England Agricultural Society's fair held in New Haven, CT in August 1868. Mr. Starrett went on to found the L. S. Starrett Co. of Athol, MA. which is today one of the largest manufacturers of precision machinist hand tools. Note that the name on the patent is spelled Leroy instead of Laroy.
