Description: |
The patent has replaceable rack teeth recessed in the shank, replaceable gripping teeth on the inner face of the moveable jaw, and a spring keeping the gripping teeth engaged. The earliest advertisements for the Wright wrench show a design corresponding to this patent. Wright wrenches are typically found citing this patent and James F. Wright's Jan. 26, 1909 patent (no. 910,890).
The IDEAL WRENCH CO. attribution taken from Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" is also noted in a Dec. 1907 COMMERCIAL AMERICA write-up for the wrench. The company name was changed to WRIGHT WRENCH CO. shortly thereafter. |
