Description: |
Open frame design for tape measure used primarily for sounding the depths of wells and tanks containing oil or other liquids with a plumb bob. Provision is alow made for a wiping device with side guide lips to clean the tape as it passes through and prevent jamming.
Shillman references his two earlier patents: 1,485,634 and 1,679,178 which have a closed casing and wiping device.
