Description: |
| This is a bevel gage which uses a notched index plate with a corresponding spring-loaded detent to accurately hold the bar at a specific angle to the head. Notches are provided for each 5 degree increment from 0 to 180 degrees.
Interestingly, the choice of fixed five-degree increments limits the usefulness of this tool. Common architectural figures like octagons (22.5 degrees) and pentagons (36 degrees) are not possible settings for this tool.
