Description:

Improvement over Gustave A. Vogel's earlier patent 1,303,829 construction with an I-beam form that utilizes brass (or alloy) for the level's web instead of steel. Using a brass web caused no damage to the flanges in construction and eliminated the need to use chilling for a steel flange.
