Description: |
This is a set of calipers designed to easily determine the circumference of the piece being measured. One the measurement is taken, a graduated scale can be slid into place that allows the circumference to be read directly.
This tool is particularly mentioned to be useful for wheelwrights, so I assume it is fairly large. Featured in the March 17, 1860 issue of Scientific American magazine. |
