Description: |
Symmetrical halves with a friction hinge utilizing a spring washer and a stop to allow the two legs to form a 90 degree angle after being rotated 270 degrees. Staggered perforations for using a pencil point for drafting purposes.
Known examples are made of brass. Markings observed around the hinge:
THE COMMERCIAL PRESS/PRINTING/TEL.3905/FITCHBURG, MASS.
CLEMSON BROS., INC. MIDDLETOWN, NY with STAR HACK SAWS in a star centered in on the hinge.
The maker, patent no., and Made in USA on the hinge on the front side on these examples.
This was sold as a promotional item and so we have seen various random names printed on the rule and those names don't imply that they manufactured the rule. |
