Description:
The coupling is a built-up construction to join lengths of thin-wall well tubing. The hook spanner needed to screw and unscrew this coupling design is noted in the specifications as well as shown clearly in the drawings.

The drawings of the coupling and spanner are different in the original patent (no. 49,142, August 1, 1865). Old had several other pipe and coupling patents.
