Description:
The patent is for the adjusting nut straddling the base of the moveable jaw, and the process by which the parts are assembled. According to Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930," Chapman was plant superintendent for Collins. The feature in this patent has not been observed on a Collins wrench.
