| The tongs have a movable pivot point formed by rack teeth on the inside of the shank meshing with teeth inside the socket. Tool functions listed in the specifications include screwdriver, hammer, scraper, tack-puller, nut-cracker, stove lid lifter, gas burner tongs, and adjustable wrench.
This is the first of two (or three) patents listed on successive versions of Heaton's combination tool. (see also pat. nos. 114,665 and 132,908). |
