Description:
This patent's drawing and specification were restored after the 1836 fire at the Patent Office. The inventor would go on to become a piano-maker in Potsdam and Ogdensburg, NY. He came from a family of cabinet-makers. The 1820 and '40 censuses list him as a manufacturer.
