| In this magazine nut socket, the nuts are held by a central spring clip and a compression spring to force them toward the open end of the magazine.
A late 1906 CYCLE AND AUTOMOBILE TRADE JOURNAL article about the HARBURG demountable rim notes the use of a "magazine brace wrench" in conjunction with removing and replacing the nuts that hold the tire and rim on to the wheel. The illustrations do not show sufficient detail of the wrench to be sure it conforms to this patent, McMurtry's parallel patent (no. 848,194), or some other design. |
