Description:
Billings's Feb. 18, 1879 wrench patent (no. 212,298) was the basis for a long-lived series of wrenches. The idea of a combined pistol and short sword was repeated several times in the mid-19th Century.

This patent is outside DATAMP's scope and was added only to show the range of Billings's interests. Billings main focus was the process of drop forging and items produced by that process.
