Description:
The wrench is designed to fit A. F. Allen's hose coupling patented Sept. 3, 1867. The wrench has "horns" extending in both directions from the lug socket so the coupling can be turned in either direction without removing and resetting the wrench. Rapid coupling and uncoupling would generate water surges which could be timed to form signals.
