Description:
Essentially an inverted gouge-lip auger, the cutting lip curves backwards and downward (i.e. toward the wood). The claim is that this produces a shearing cut throughout, and the bit exits the far side of the material more cleanly. Additionally, the sharpening takes place on the lower, more accessible, surface of the lip.
