Description:
Spirit level tube filled with a fluoresent liquid, such as cosine or fluorescence disolved in alcohol or water with a background of either a mirror or constrasting in color with the bubble.

This was previously patented in Great Britian, No 7,134 on Apr 5, 1899 and addresses the problem with seeing the bubble during dark or foggy weather or in gloomy places.

Stratton advertised this as an imported vial and used it in their No 1 E and No 4 levels, using a yellow fluid and green glass combination.
