Description:
This ruler uses a concave back to prevent blotting, and provides one sharp edge to be used for tearing, while the other is relieved to allow it to be used for ruling. The inventor claims it to be particularly useful for ledger books.

Known examples are marked with a fancy football-shaped mark of "D. Webster Clegg's/[New York]/Concave Ruler", and have some fancy brass wear plates not shown inthe patent drawing.
