Description:
Release lever on the swinging handle; gripping-tension adjusting screw in the intermediate link; base of intermediate link in the solid handle slides on a rod, against a compression spring. Arrangement intended to facilitate one-handed operation with no need to adjust for different size objects. The specifications describe alternate arrangements for some of the features.

In 2020, the patent number along with 6,776,072 appears on a HART brand self-adjusting locking pliers "Made in Taiwan," and the "LOCKJAW" web site is gone.
