Description:
"Self-Adjusting" hex box end with swinging loop ends fitting several hex sizes. The "loops" are made from folded stampings, and fold back against the shank when not in use.

Known examples marked "COMPETENT JEM / MEREDITH'S Pat." and a model number.

The British (GB-189818451 ) and Canadian (no. CA-62,666 issued February 16, 1899) patents have also been identified.

The idea of a self-adjusting hex box wrench was revisited a couple of decades later in James W. Saffold's patent no. 1,363,274.
