Claim:

The combination with the working cylinder and piston, of an air-compressor, means for cooling the air, a fuel-supply, means for compressing the fuel to a higher pressure than that of the air and for heating- t he same to above the combustion-point, and means for introducing into the working cylinder first the compressed air and then the fuel.
