Description:
The focus of this patent is on "... a volute-shaped tool formed of a single curved plate, whose salient edge is sharpened for the purpose of reaming out a conical hole ..." The tool can have a threaded portion at the tip for use in bung-hole and tap boring, but would serve no purpose when boring hubs to take boxes.
