Description:
Improvement to Keith's Sept. 15, 1896 patent (no. 567,945).

An extension on the lever handle has teeth that are engaged by a sliding latch to hold the adjustment once the jaws close on the work piece.

The adjustable movable jaw is free to slide for size adjustment until clamped by gripping teeth on a yoke that engage rack teeth on the shank of the movable jaw.
