My invention relates to improvements in vises for anvils; and it consists in the construction and arrangement of parts, which will be fully described hereinafter, and particularly pointed out in the claim. The object of my invention is to provide a simple anvil-vise which is adapted to be pivotally connected to any anvil and to be operated, by the foot of the smith for the purpose of clamping a shoe or other piece of iron to be operated upon, the same consisting of but two operative parts.
