Description:
The patent describes a two-stage adjusting nut. The outer portion has paired gripping pawls which allow for quick adjustment by pressing their bases together to release their grip on the shank of the adjustable jaw. The inner portion is a conventional adjusting nut. The whole works is held in place by a compression spring. Alternate provisions for construction of the adjusting nut, and the handle are described. The end of the movable jaw shank has a screwdriver tip.
