An example has been reported, from Western Australia, marked:

"CLARK'S IMPROVED PATTERN BIT---PAT. NOV. 28 1893--- K&B"

Still investigating any possible connection between Lavigne and William A. Clark, whose patent No. 141324 this seems to be an improvement on.
