Description:
The movable jaw slides on a pin on the lever. The adjustment is held by the engagement of rack teeth on the main shank and movable jaw. A pin on the movable jaw fits in a slot in the shank to prevent lateral movement.

A known example (with a piece broken off the movable jaw) has no visible markings, a circumstance which hints at Canadian production.

Parallel Canadian patent CA-41,676 was issued Jan. 17, 1893.
