Description:
The wrench is comprised of three parts: the handle and fixed jaw, the movable jaw, and the adjusting nut with integral stem. The edge of the handle facing the adjusting nut is concave with threads to match the adjusting nut.

Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" posits that Ryan produced the wrench based on a piece in "Scientific American."
