Description: |
| The three features covered in this patent are:
1) the tapered hole in the stationary jaw which is a socket for a screwdriver or drill bit tang.
2)The set screw adjustment holder on the movable jaw.
3)holes in the adjusting nut to allow a nail or awl to act as a lever to tighten the adjustment.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" notes an 1888 ad in which Sanborn was offering outright sale or royalty arrangements for the patent. |
