Description:
Nova Scotia (NS) patents were issued between 1834 and 1867, when they joined with Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick to form the Dominion of Canada.

The inventor was a "carpenter and coach maker". "...upward and covered with hardwood board with reeded or fluted upper surface, a rubbing board suspended above the tub in pendulum fashion for rubbing against the fluted surface."
