Description:
The tool is a self-adjusting socket wrench. The frame and internal push button are flattened oval tubes. The wrench has a side handle for additional leverage. It is an obvious evolution from Birch's May 14, 1878 patent (no. 203,581).

The patent covers the oblong case, the side handle, and the form of connection between the handle and the case.
