"Boring and drilling.-The feedshaft a of radial arm &c. drilling, boring, and like machines is eccentrically mounted in a sleeve g which can be rotated to move the worm-wheel e out of gear with its driving - worm, the worm c out of gear with the wheel i, and the spurwheel n into gear with the spur-wheel o, which through bevel-gearing drives the pinion r gearing with the barrel rack s to give a quick return to the spindle."
