Description:
This is the original British version of US patent 389,291.

"Two spiral strips of leather A, B with india-rubber backing are mounted on wooden discs or spiral arms, and rotated by a handle C. The razor D is clamped so as to lie between the discs, a light rocking motion being permitted to the clamp. By this means one spiral over a side of the razor from heel to point; the other spiral then passes over the second side in a similar manner, the razor rocking at the same time in order that each side may lie flat on its strop. The pressure on the leather is regulated by a spring."
