Description: |
The patent presents several alternative arrangements for screw-adjustable jaw "Clyburn Spanners." Two versions are shown in the drawings selected for inclusion in "Abridgments of Specifications." A different version appears in an 1878 John Palmer & Sons advertisement in the 1878 Birmingham Directory. The patent is noted in Ron Geesin's THE ADJUSTABLE SPANNER.
Note: Early English patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #2,108 of the year 1867. |
